  36.        installed using IRIX.  You do not need to use the miniroot.

  43.        This section details the software dependencies needed for
  44.        Video Format Compiler.

  46.        In processing files, vfc uses the language pre-processor to
  47.        filter input.  Typically, this is a C-language pre-processor
  48.        such as that available with the IRIX Developers Option
  49.        (IDO); this pre-processor, in the subsystem c_dev.sw.c, has
  50.        a number of features not available in the standard system
  51.        pre-processor /lib/cpp.  Although not required, it is
  52.        recommended you use the IDO pre-processor; you may specify
  53.        that vfc use the /lib/cpp program on the vfc command line.
